My campaign to take over the 'net continues. Well - not really, but I am still working hard to update and promote our internet presence and make our music projects available to an ever widening circle of friends and customers.

• 6/10/2011 - Haven‘t posted here much in a while - been an eventful few months - but today the new website design is being launched. Three months in the making I think it is the best version yet!


• 12/27/2010 - Now that Christmas is over, it's fun to spend some time fooling around with website stuff - clears the mind! I fixed it so that the main page content appears in a scrolled area and and at normal resolution the page as a whole stays put, meaning that the navigation menus and search box are always visible on the screen. If the text sizen is increased by the user it seems to translate reasonably well vis a vis scrolling. It has a bit of a 1990's frames look, but it is all CSS. I also created a special print media CSS file so that only the header and main content will print, including the invisible scroll content, as otherwise only the content visible in the scroll box would print. More nifty CSS . . . try a print preview of this page to see how it turned out!


• 4/23/2010 - Finally bit the bullet and took on MySQL databases and PHP big time - the Kingsfold Music Sheet Music Store is now database driven. Whereas before I had to make and maintain an individual page for each item (yuck!) - now there is just one page that is automatically populated with the appropriate information from a database in response to User input. The irony is that you will see hardly any difference in the presentation of the page - but it certainly makes things a LOT easier on this end! The process of getting new material up will now be greatly simplified! No more excuses!!!


• 6/30/2010 - Have now re-revised the site! I added a search engine for the music database, but it's placement necessitated a redo of the navigation menu, which is now horizontal and completely CSS powered - no javascript! I have also changed the listing of available music to the 20 songs included in the Sacred Gateways book, and have made those available for immediate download via E-Junkie - no music without keyboard arrangements from now on! MP3s, sheet music and licensing all available! From there I will try to regularly add additional pieces, starting with those I took down, probably. (Remember - if you can't find something you are looking for, please CONTACT me!) Also, I redid the logo - the file is a little larger, but the resolution is better and the rough edges are gone - funny how one little thing can make a page look so much better! And finally, my CSS was a mess due to the learning process and the gradual accrual of sloppy fixes . . . so I rewrote it from scratch - now it is lighter, faster and standards compliant (well . . . mostly! ;-)
