Fergal & Breda

Kingsfold Music Production is a company founded in 2000 by Feargal and Breda King for the online publication and promotion of the liturgical music of Feargal King and the musical talents of Breda King. Over the years our purpose and our ethos has evolved. The desire to promote became the desire to share and make the most of our gifts, and to help others do the same to the best of our abilities. Even as we realize our own God-given potential through our faith and our service, so we hope to help others do the same. Of course, we also have to support ourselves and our efforts. Our loyal friends and customers give us the gift of their support . . . we hope that our efforts support and enable them in return.

Feargal King, guitarist, keyboardist, choral clinician and director, composer and recording artist, was born and raised in Tuam, Co. Galway, Ireland, a stone's throw from the Cathedral of the Archdiocese of Tuam. He studied classical guitar under master guitarist John Feeley at the College of Music in Dublin for five years, and received an honors degree in Music (B.Mus) from University College Cork. After spending some time as a guitar teacher, he studied for a Diploma in Pastoral Liturgy at the Irish Institute for Pastoral Liturgy, after which he emigrated to the United States, in 1993.

Breda King (nee Barry), a gifted singer, pianist and flautist, grew up in the town of Kilkenny, Ireland. She learned to sing at her grandmothers knee, and sang in Church choirs from an early age, and with her father, a well known professional Irish accordionist and singer. She holds degrees in English, Music and Education from UCC. She graduated from the Irish Institute of Pastoral Liturgy at the top of the class!

Breda followed Feargal to the states and they both worked at St. Joseph Parish, Roseburg, Oregon, he as Director of Music & Liturgy and she as Director of Youth Ministries. They got married in 1995, and after the birth of their daughter Rioghna Rose made the move to Illinois.

Feargal works as full time Director of Music and Liturgy at St. Margaret Mary Parish in Algonquin, Illinois, which at 3200 families is among the largest in the Diocese of Rockford. He directs 8 choirs and music ensembles and is responsible for the co-ordination of over 400 liturgical ministers in this very active parish. He is also the Director of the Rockford Diocesan Liturgical Chorale, Past-President of the SW Chicago Chapter of Chorister's Guild (an organization that supports children's choirs), and a member of the National Forum of Liturgical Composers.

Breda is a Master Cantor, teaches piano and voice. As a singer, she has recently recorded with Rory Cooney, Theresa Donohoo, Gary Daigle, Fr. Liam Lawton, David Haas and Michael Joncas. She has also performed with Jeanne Cotter and Tom Tomaszek.
